V-consult has facilitated the delivery of 50 Safe Birth Kits from Direct Relief in the USA to the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Union (UNMU). These kits contain enough material and drugs to perform 2,500 safe births. UNMU, working closely with the Ministry of Health, has distributed these kits to many of the most remote rural healthcare centers, improving the quality of service and saving lives. We hope to receive additional kits in 2022 and 2023.
